I am married and have a daughter who graduated from college in 2018. I lived in Savannah, GA, from 2001 to 2021. In 2021, we moved to Brooklet, GA where we continue to reside. Before moving to Savannah, I lived in Miami, Los Angeles, and Venezuela. I developed a passion for reading when I was in second grade. I spent countless hours reading and rereading books. As an adult, I can get lost in a book for hours. In addition to reading, I love the outdoors especially when I can kayak, garden, hike, and camp. I believe in a healthy lifestyle and one of the ways I maintain this lifestyle is by training for triathlons. I have competed in all distances, sprint, Olympic, Half Ironman, and Full Ironman. On July 30, 2016, I completed my first full distance Ironman in Sonoma, CA. It was a long day, 15.02 hours of racing, that I will forever remember. I qualified to compete in the 2017 Half Ironman World Championship race that took place on September 9, 2017, in Chattanooga, TN. On September 30, 2018, I completed my second full distance Ironman in Chattanooga, TN. This time I finished in 13 hours. I always share my training and racing with students so they know that it's never too late to try something new. Most importantly, we will always be challenged in life and experience successes and failures. What we do with those experiences is what counts. Our practices make permanence!
